What is Mixed Martial Arts?
Mixed Martial Arts is a full-contact combat sport that allows striking and grappling, both standing and on the ground, using techniques from various combat sports and martial arts. It consists of Boxing, Thai kickboxing, Jiu-jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, Wrestling and many more. 

Why do people learn MMA?
Each individual Martial arts teaches you various of ways to defend yourself and or learn how to fight. It also gives a lot of benefits such as building confidence, discipline, competition, stress reliever, camaraderie and most important thing is to achieve that Summer body you've been looking for.
There's this big misconception about Martial arts where it is all violent which is not entirely true! There are many moves in Mixed Martial Arts that does not involve punching nor kicking as the main purpose for this moves are to force your opponent to submit and forfeit the match and this is done by restraining their movements while giving them the least amount of damage.

This is one of the examples where the top gets a site control to try out his submission moves while the bottom tries to escape, otherwise he'll be forced to forfeit the match. Strength and Size does not matter when you're on the ground wrestling. It's all about who has the better techniques.
I completely agree that when you watch those MMA fights on your smartphone devices or TV it all looks cool and easy to do, but I guarantee you it is completely different than what you imagine. 
It takes months and months of practice to get the basics down. It takes months or even years to master the basic fundamentals. Sure its okay to learn everything in a short period of time but as the saying goes "Jack of all trades, master of none." 
That is why if you ever go to Martial arts gyms or clubs, do not be too surprised that most drills are going to be repetitive as most trainers want to drill all that basic fundamentals on you till your muscle remembers every motion without needing to think.
With all the techniques being drilled into you, there's also physical conditioning so as your body can keep up with all the force you make with all the motions you do in Mixed Martial Arts. As things progress you'll start to see your body adapt to all these training and your body appearance will change. A perfect opportunity to get that summer body before Summer dont you think?
But ofcourse, to learn, you must always listen. MMA isnt all about violence. Its mostly all about respect, discipline, work ethics, patience and determination. You can't go past your limitations if you do nott have one of these values.
Martial Arts has the ability to bring people outside of their comfort zone to a place they never want to be, however it’s a place that they need to be in order to grow. This might sound crazy to many, however Martial Arts really helps build people through hard work and dedication, your failures are your friends.
Martial Arts is just one of the activities that sparks interest to a wide audience, be it with kids, teenagers, young adults or adults. I don't see any bad reasons to not try Martial Arts atleast once and I can guarantee you that itll be worth the time and money.
